Erin Q. Riley, Of Counsel to the firm, is a member of the firm's real estate practice group. Ms. Riley represents public and private clients in all types of real estate transactions, including negotiation and documentation of real estate acquisitions and sales, options, easements, rights-of-entry, commercial leases and secured financing. Ms. Riley specializes in providing assistance to clients regarding environmental issues as they arise in real estate and financial transactions. Ms. Riley also advises lender clients regarding potential liability associated with contaminated collateral. Ms. Riley's environmental practice has primarily focused on CERCLA (“Superfund”), Underground Storage Tank laws and regulations, Porter-Cologne Water Quality Act, Hazardous Substance Account Act, Hazardous Waste Control Act, and Asbestos laws and regulations. In that regard, she represents clients in negotiations with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, State Water Resources Control Board, Regional Water Quality Control Boards and other state and local agencies in all aspects of site investigation and remediation.
