Thomas M. Swett, Of Counsel to the firm, is a member of the firm's litigation group. Mr. Swett practices general business and real estate litigation on behalf of individuals, private businesses and public entities. He has extensive experience in real property title issues, mortgages, title insurance coverage disputes and escrow litigation.

Mr. Swett has represented California's leading title insurance companies, their insureds, private developers and health care companies in disputes involving purchase and sale contracts (both for damages and specific performance) options, rights of first refusal, easements and other rights of access, prescriptive rights, adverse possession, contested boundary lines and evictions. He has also represented title insurance and escrow companies regarding bad faith and breach of fiduciary duty claims, insurance coverage disputes and has unraveled fraudulent title insurance, mortgage and escrow transactions, including the recovery of stolen property and traceable assets.

Thomas M. Swett received a B.S. in Natural Resource Management from the University of Nevada in 1994, an M.S. in Forest Products from Oregon State University in 1997 and a J.D., with great distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 2004.

During law school, Mr. Swett served as a law review comment writeron the ABA Appellate Advocacy Team and as Judicial Extern to the Honorable William B. Shubb, United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Mr. Swett is licensed to practice in all California courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California.
